Being a citizen means that you have the ability to vote in elections, volunteer in your community, and to educate oneself on the issues within your local community or national community. It also means to be concerned and to care about the world and then act on the problems and become a part of the solution.
As a citizen you have some rights, privileges and rights. Rights are legal, social or ethnical principles of freedom or entitlement. Rights of a citizen carry several benefits such as voting which allows you to vote for the presidential candidate of your choice and who you find fit to be president.
A privilege is a special right, advantage or immunity granted to a particular person or group by the state. They are gotten from citizenship. Citizenship is the position or status of being a citizen of a particular country.
Duty is a moral and legal obligation which can also be defined as responsibility. Being a citizen comes with several duties such as supporting and defending the constitution, participating in the democratic processes and more.
Immigrants and refugees also have rights. Some of their rights include working and staying in the countries they are currently located in. Another right they have is to reunite with overseas family members. These rights come with responsibilities such as obeying the laws of the particular country they are in. This helps them to have a peaceful stay where they are at.

Angelika Buddhadasa Response
I agree with all your views on citizens, and I just have one question. Do you think we, teenagers and students, can do anything else other than educating ourselves and supporting the country? Since we are still young to vote in elections and participate in democratic processes.

Reply to Angelika Buddhadasa
Well Angelika, I think as teenagers we can help our community by involving ourselves in it and be aware of what is going on in our countries.
